We know that wedding planning can be challenging. Today, we’re going to discuss some key tops for the timeline of your wedding day. Wedding planners will put together a timeline in collaboration with all your wedding vendors. One of our main concerns is how our couples feel on wedding day. We want couples to remain as happy, relaxed and in the moment as possible. When we work through the timeline of your wedding day, we will take into account how much time is set aside between key events. We also make sure the time is cushioned for all the days’ stops.
Photography Timeline
Always ask your photographer the amount of time they recommend for a first look. Most photographers will recommend a timeline for spacing out the first look and other events. You should always supply a shot list to your photographer in advance. This will help them recommend a timeline. We recommend at least 2 hours of time for the first look and couples portraits, exclusive of travel time. This will depend on the number of shots you want during that time too.
You don’t want to be rushed through your day, it already goes by so quickly. The reason you hire professionals is so that you don’t have to worry about anything! While you’re in your first look, you don’t want to wonder if the reception is being setup properly. You want to be present and focused on each other so you can have fun! If you’re worried about your guests, I like to remind couples that the guests will be where you are. They will mirror what you’re feeling. The best thing you can do is relax and have fun! Entertainment Timeline
DJ’s and Band’s timelines will depend on your personal preferences and the other events you have planned for your reception. It can also vary by geographic location! Around New Jersey and New York City, the wedding party is introduced, the first dance happens and then everyone immediately goes into the first dance set. While the majority of the rest of the country traditionally does wedding party introductions, first dance and then sits down for first course and toasts. Your guests will want to eat and dance but don’t push off dancing so far that it starts after 9pm. You hired fabulous entertainment, let them do their thing!
