Getting Started: How Much To Invest

Our next piece on “getting started with wedding planning” is to decide out how much you want to invest in this special day!

There are many factors to consider here. We do assist full-planning couples with building a comprehensive itemized estimate. There are two major ways to go about putting together a budget.

1) You can decide what you generally want in terms of vendors and design at your wedding and add that up to arrive at an estimate. 

For example: Do you want a band? Do you want a seated-plated dinner? Do you want cocktail hour live entertainment? Many different cocktail hour stations? Do you want live instrument strings for your ceremony? Are lush florals a MUST for you? Ceremony and reception at the same space? Afterparty? Welcome party? Destination where you would need to shuttle guests? Do you want a traditional wedding venue or do you want a raw space where rentals need to be brought in? Is a certain month important to you? 

2) Another way to approach this is coming up with a number you’re comfortable with and mapping out what that means for all the vendor categories.

Wedding planners know what vendors generally cost and can help map this out. If you’re not sure you want a wedding planner yet, many will help you map this out before signing on.
